I am music
Kelly Esparza
I have taste in music. Scratch that like a DJ. Now let the beat drop. I taste musical notes when I speak, hear symphonies when I sleep. Line the stylus to my heart, my vinyl record, and watch me play and dance. The way I move, my blood pumps, the song working its way through my veins and my bones, until I feel the rhythm from my head to my toes.
When I am music, it’s effortless—that spark. That spark that sets me on fire and relaxes me. That spark that feeds me joy, that spark that dribbles down in tears.
Hear me scream words like I’m at a rock concert. Listen as I sway to my music, what makes me, me. Taste my lyrics, my Swiftie laments and love songs, my ballads and upbeat pop songs. Feel my emotion, my soul music. Watch me write stories for you, for me, for us.
I am music. Now let that mic drop.
